Bernanke disappoints U.S. stock markets

U.S. Fed away the need for more stimuli, contrary to expectations. U.S. stocks retreat.

Investors were waiting for Ben Bernanke today announced more stimulus to the world's largest economy, but the U.S. Federal Reserve defrauded all expectations by declaring that, despite the economic slowdown, will just closely monitor the economic and financial developments in the country.

It was against this background that the technological indices and NASDAQ Dow Jones industrial decreased 0.66% and 0.29% respectively, while the P & S 500 lost 0.25%.

"The Fed is in a difficult position," said David Joy, an expert of Ameriprise Financial, told Bloomberg. "The economic data are ambiguous enough to justify doing something and doing nothing. They decided they would wait and see. And it brought some disappointment to some," he added.

In business terms, highlighting the titles of Knights Capital, which sank 32.82% to $ 6.94, after announcing technological problems with the trading of shares. MasterCard also fell 2.18% to $ 427.20 after showing sales below expectations.
