Michael Phelps says goodbye to the high competition with the 18th Gold Medal won, 22 th in its entirety at the Olympics, the United States of America to win the Olympic title in the 4x100 meters final round of Olympic swimming.

The American, 27, has said that these would be his last Games. Did not start well, missing the podium in the 400 meters styles, but closed his career with the gold. Altogether in London earned six medals (two of them silver) in seven possible and became the most medal ever. Phelps has, today, equal number of medals in Portugal and the curriculum takes 18 gold, two silver and two bronze.

The U.S. team finished the race in the 4x100 meters 3.29,35 minutes, followed by Japan (3.31,26) and Australia (3.31,58).
