Facebook under $ 20 for the first time

Facebook Shares are plunging 5% to $ 19.87, the lowest price since it debuted in May.

Titles Facebook lost 4.84% up to $ 19.87, after having already been to retreat to $ 19.82, the lowest since it debuted on the stock exchange, in the month of May. This is the sixth consecutive session of losses for the company of Mark Zuckerberg.

Since that time, when they began to negotiate the price of $ 38 per title, Facebook has lost nearly half its market value (48%).

At the base of the fall in today's session are several factors. On the one hand, there remain doubts about the prospects for sales growth, on the other hand, the recent departures of several Facebook executives also worry investors, and, moreover, is despite the fact that finished in the next 16 days this month a lockout period for the shares.

"Sentiment is so negative about it," said Victor Anthony, an analyst at the Topeka Capital Markets, told Bloomberg. "I think the action may continue to decline until we have some significant catalyst which, unfortunately, may not appear until the third quarter results," he added.

This Wednesday, two directors of Facebook announced their plans to leave the company. On August 16 ends the first period of restriction on sale of securities of technology. At that time, about 271 million shares will be available for sale and over 243 million will be placed on the market from mid-October and mid November. However, the day that most investors fear most is the November 14, when more than 1.2 billion shares will be placed on the market.

Revenues Facebook grew 32% in the second quarter, a development that was well below the growth of 100% over the same period last year.
