In a statement, Research In Motion says that the new model retains the design of the PlayBook before, but now with a performance "even faster" - feature that extends the speed of Internet access.
The new BlackBerry PlayBook will be available in Canada from August 9, with the launch in Europe, USA, South Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean due to the "coming months", by local telecom operators, also in accordance with RIM.
"We're really excited to offer our users the first BlackBerry PlayBook tablet with support for 4G LTE networks," said Executive Vice President of Mobile Computing Research In Motion, David J. Smith, in the statement issued by the company, adding that the new Playbook "also offers premium performance in a high-speed mobile networks, helping users be more productive than ever and make the most of your time and mobility."
Besides the integration of a plate 4G / LTE, the company highlights the main features for your new tablet including a 7-inch screen diagonal (1024x600 pixels resolution), dual-core processor at 1.5 GHz, 1 GB RAM front camera with 3 megapixels sensor and rear sensor of 5 Megapixels (Full HD video recording in both), HDMI output and stereo speakers.
In terms of storage capacity the new BlackBerry PlayBook 4G/LTE will be available in four options: a version with Wi-Fi and 4G card has 32GB of memory, while the model with only Wi-Fi will be served in 16GB versions, 32GB and 64GB capacity.
Information about the operating system used on the tablet confirms the intentions of RIM defended for nearly a week by chief executive, Thorsten Heins, who denied talks with Microsoft to use Windows 8 tablets in the new BlackBerry. The new Playbook comes with version 2 of the BlackBerry PlayBook OS.
For RIM has not officially revealed the price of the Playbook for Europe, not the versions that are available in Portugal.
